Frank Gehry was awarded the Prince of Asturias Award of Arts 2014

The Prince of Asturias Foundation has awarded the Prince of Asturias Award for the Arts 2014 the architect Frank O. Gehry.

The jury was composed of:

The decision to award the prize to Frank Gehry is based on the relevance and impact of their creations in many countries, with which it has defined and driven architecture in the last half century.

Quoted by Jury himself: "His buildings are characterized by a virtuoso game with complex shapes, by the use of unusual materials, such as titanium, and technological innovation that has had repercussions in other arts. An example of this architecture of character open, playful, organic and what is the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, which in addition to its architectural and aesthetic excellence, has had a huge economic, social and urban impact on its surroundings ".
